Most people do not consider dawn to be an attractive experience – unless they are still up.
The belly rules the mind.
Nature is new every morning.
To me a hush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug.
Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.
Some keep the Sabbath going to Church,
I keep it staying at Home –
With a bobolink for a Chorister,
And an Orchid for a Dome.
~Emily Dickinson, C.1862
