I’m taking some much needed time away from blogging. I need to concentrate on my diabetes, as I am no longer on insulin. I feel great, but there are the moments when the sugar level is a bit high. I don’t fret over it, as I know what to do.
When will I return, I have no idea.

hot searing sun
broiling the desert
not a house
or any building
to be seen
for as far
as the eye can see
carcasses of long
ago dead animals
litter the ground
rattle snakes hissing
scorpions and black
seeking to bite
and deposit their
no water to be found
not an ideal place
to spend time in
such is life
in the desert

“Traveling is like flirting with life. It’s like saying, ‘I would stay and love you, but I have to go; this is my station.”
~ Lisa St. Aubin de Terán, Novelist
“All the world began with a yes. One molecule said yes to another molecule and life was born. But before prehistory there was the prehistory of the prehistory and there was the never and there was the yes. It was ever so. I don’t know why, but I do know that the universe never began.
Make no mistake, I only achieve simplicity with enormous effort.”
~ Clarice Lispector, Writer ~ 1920 – 1977

~ Alice Hoffman
