A Pondering Mind

For the last 20 years, Horace and Hazel
would make their annual visit to Hiram’s
All You Can Eat Diner. Grits and buckwheat
cakes is the house specialty, along with
bottomless cups of weak instant coffee.

Without fail, they would have their favorite
bowl of Frosted Flakes, with rotten bananas,
loded with tablespoons of sugar, and Molly’s
goat milk.

When they’re done eating their fine food,
they hop into their 1932 Ford Model T,
and over to Muskrat Lake to do some hand
holding and a little canoodling.

When they had enough of the smooching
and whatever else did, they headed on
home, and made preparations for the
next upcoming date.
