Thanks for posting this, Don! All day yesterday, my inner voice kept reminding me that 6/3 was a date I always celebrated, but I just couldn’t remember why.
AG was the reason I got serious about poetry, back in my High School days. I actually got to meet him once, & have a newspaper front page photo of us standing together when he came to Hartford (CT) for a walking / reading tour back in ’78 (well after my ’69 graduation date).

That was nice for you to meet him, and I got to know one of Jack Kerouac’s cousins. That was more than twenty years ago.
