  2. I’ve never been able to read short stories, for some unknown reason. It’s weird. I enjoy them alone but not together. I think the change from one to another is to abrupt for me, but who knows. Enjoy your book.

    1. I was not a fan of short stories until a couple of years ago, when I started reading Lydia Davis’ short story books …

      1. Oh, they’re all by the same author. That makes a big differece. I’ve tried to read some by they are by 13 different authors and that’s a mess.

        1. I have some of the books with different authors. What I do is read a couple at a time, then switch to another book.

          1. Yes, that’s the way to read them, or you’re all over the place and I’ve found that I don’t like a lot of the authors and they pull you in with one of your favorites. I don’t buy them, but lots of people love the variety.

    1. Single author. Homesick For Another World by Ottessa Moshfegh. She’s originally from New England, and now resides in Southern California …
