I’ve never been able to read short stories, for some unknown reason. It’s weird. I enjoy them alone but not together. I think the change from one to another is to abrupt for me, but who knows. Enjoy your book.
Yes, that’s the way to read them, or you’re all over the place and I’ve found that I don’t like a lot of the authors and they pull you in with one of your favorites. I don’t buy them, but lots of people love the variety.

I was not a fan of short stories until a couple of years ago, when I started reading Lydia Davis’ short story books …

Oh, they’re all by the same author. That makes a big differece. I’ve tried to read some by they are by 13 different authors and that’s a mess.

I have some of the books with different authors. What I do is read a couple at a time, then switch to another book.
