I’m just a 74 year old retired guy, who likes to post, and write about things that are of interest to me. I’ve been doing this for the last 10 years. When I first started to blog, I was using Google Blog, then decided to switch to Word Press, which is a much better platform.

  11. Thank you for dropping by my blog at redvalerian and taking the time to like some of my stuff. I’ve been blogging for a while and really enjoy it. It’s just anything that takes my fancy in my little world here in Wiltshire. It pleases me but it is great to know that it pleases others occasionally.

  14. I enjoy your blog…I have been here before…and then LIFE happened upon me and now I have a few moments this evening, so I thought I would check out what is new with you! I love your down-to-earth matter-of-factness….is that grammatically correct? Anyway, nice to read you, Don! I am retired too—the first year was horrific but then I found WordPress and it is a wonderful place to thrive! People are so kind and supportive on this blog.     You followed me this am. Thank you.
    I was intrigued by the cup of coffee in your hand as I’m a java fanatic. I followed the trail back here then poked around your site – which is refreshingly creative and a terrific place to visit for immediate enlightenment.
    As I perused further, I noticed an image of Sophia Loren. I often say (only half joking) if I ever come back a second time, I’d love to be Ms. Loren’s twin. 😉

  25. i never heard this proverb in german “beware of a silent dog and still water”, i just know one with a lot more positive meaning: “barking dogs never bite and still water runs deep”. 🙂

  27. All of a sudden, I see no way to comment on your posts. I don’t know the reason for the change, but I wanted to let you know that there’s an apparent typo in your post today with the Aldous Huxley quote: I think you meant “not” instead of “now” (just though you’d like to know so you can correct it if you wish). Feel free to delete this comment if you object to it.

  45. My apologies for not reading your works earlier. I know that I had previously
    come across your Writings -Wonderful! Marvelous! Hilarious! And oh so simply
    delightful. Mind you of course that I have not gone through your whole blog
    just through some of your Quick Fiction/Short Story/Six Word Story.

    I shall be going through hopefully weekly, if not daily through more of your writings. Truly they are a refreshing treat for me and I am certain as for many other of your followers. (@–>–)
