A Pondering Mind

A little of this. A little of that.

Like Button On Word Press

For the past week or so, I have been having problems with the Word Press like button, using the Firefox browser. First, the likes would not load, then it would say two people liked a post, when it was over a dozen. Strange! For the past two days, I have no like buttons at all at the top of my followers blogs, and the likes will not load on the posts.

I know of a fellow blogger in the UK who is having the same problem, and he has switched over using the Opera browser, which is the one I am using right now. Also, been using Google Chrome, but it has too many damn ads.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Happy New Year…

  4. They hid my comment box! Using Mozilla but just updated the browser to Google Chrome. Also, a friend in Canada gave me a useful hint which was to hold down CTRL and F5 at the same time when trying to reset the Comment box to refresh the page. That, I think, did the trick as well as emptying Cache and Cookies.
Hope this is helpful to someone.

  5. I have Chrome and use Adblock Plus, and no more problems with ads 🙂 I know someone who wasn’t finding the like button on my posts though, so maybe they were using Firefox as well.

  6. I have that trouble using my iPad, so I only use my reader on the desktop. BUT, before you change anything & if your likes are going by the dozen, instead of one, could you ‘like’ a few of my posts from your troubled firefox browser? 🙂 Happy New Year! ~amy

Short version: you’ll need several browsers to see all of the content you’d like. Until there is a REAL standard in coding it’s a sad fact ‘o life.

Love you my friend and may your New Year bring joy, health and humor.

p.s. let me know how Opera works as a daily browser. Have only used it to test my own designs for mobile devices; and this was more than 10 years ago ha. Am quite interested in your experience.

  17. Yes, yes and yes! It’s a nightmare with the likes! It started on Firefox, so I switched to Safari, which was good. The next day Safari was a disaster, but Firefox was good.
I checked out WP forums and they were swamped with the same complaint.
I had just cleared the Caches a couple of days earlier, but I did it again. Sheesh I wish my home was as clean as my Caches.
One advice on the forums was to “ride it out”.
It seems a bit better now, but now it’s who I visit. On some sites the “Likes” just won’t load, so I can’t hit “like”.
So I am still using 2 browsers back and forth!
    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  18. I am not sure whether I find it Ironic or Just plain annoying, that While using Firefox this evening,It has allowed me to ‘like’ this post. Yet all week it has given me nothing but trouble. I looked on google regarding this, and they blame two factors. 1. the browser and 2.the theme. So unfortunately for me,i had no choice but to change my theme today. Since I too have been getting numerous complaints about my theme being slow.
