I would substitute “attain” for “seek,” but if looked at from the perspective of “Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good,” I can see the Orwell quote.
A friend once told me, “Accepting the fact that we can’t be perfect is perfect in itself” I’m not sure of the meaning but it seems to make sense somehow. 🙂

Sorry, George, but I have to disagree on this one… I think everybody seeks “perfection” in their own way… but will probably never find it!
