Population Growth

It’s coming home to roost over the next 50 years or so. It’s not just climate change; it’s sheer space, places to grow food for this enormous horde. Either we limit our population growth or the natural world will do it for us, and the natural world it for us right now.

  1. I agree 100%. First we need to wean ourselves from the amount of meat we eat in general. The amount of land taking up for cattle and pigs and chickens astronomical. If that same land were turned into fields of vegetables and grains, we could feed the planet.
Cattle have to eat six or more pounds of grasses and grains per pound of beef. Plus it takes over 1800 gallons of water to produce a pound of beef.
And I am not a radical vegetarian or something like that. I love beef. But we all need to scale back quite a bit on the amount of meat we eat. I have myself down to once or twice a month and approximately the same amount of chicken.
At first I missed it a lot but I no longer do. But when I do eat beef or chicken, wow! What a treat!

    1. I agree with you. I have cut back on the amount of meat I buy. Also, the cost of meat keeps going up, and a lot of the blame goes to the virus, and I really don’t see this ending anytime. Then there’s the asshole in the White House, who doesn’t give a shit what happens.
