It wasn’t too long ago I was reading an article on ‘past’ medicines…ketchup wasn’t mentioned. Did some searches and ketchup in the 1830s was marketed in the United States as Dr. Miles’s Compound Extract of Tomato but none of the sources stated for what purpose it was used.
