The first snow storm of 2014 arrived here in the early morning hours. It is supposed to last until late Friday morning. The coast of Massachusetts is supposed to get worst of the storm. As of 7:45 pm, which is the time I am writing this, the temperature is 2 F, -16 C. The wind chill factor is -11 F, -24 C.
Below is one photo I took from inside the building I live in. I can only imagine it will be like tomorrow morning.

I lived in Massachusetts for 45 years…most of those in Boston. I remember skiing down Commonwealth Ave. after the blizzard of ’78 all the way from Brighton to The Common….

My daughter was shoveling snow at 2 this afternoon in Sudbury…I guess she cannot stay up all night to keep the snow off the drive way. Hope her husband helps. Last year they had to crawl out an upstairs window to get the snow off the roof.
Keep warm and well.

Looked like 15 inches had fallen in Rowley by this early evening and the shoreline will get battered badly again. Hope the seawall in Rye holds I want to be on the coast for tomorrows noon high tide charging batteries for cameras now 🙂
Stay safe when you hit the roads tomorrow.

I wish it were that nice here…lol. Coldest December in over a century with many days at temps (with windchill) hovering around -40C. On New Year’s Day it was colder here than the North Pole. I’ve decided to move to a warmer place so I got a job painting toys, plus I hear the fellow who runs the place is quite jolly.

Not bad seeing it from the comfort of the warm indoors.
Cold here too. Kids had a snow day yesterday – back to school today though.
I think next week might call for some additional days off for them if temps hit what is predicted in the extreme negatives.
