Barbara Castle was a Labour figurehead when I was growing up. She achieved some lasting changes in British politics such as equal pay for women and, I think, the introduction of compulsory wearing of a seat belt when driving a vehicle. She is still admired by many today.

You bet !! Barbara Castle was a left-winger from the North – where they tell it as it is. She appears as a pretty shrewd figure in the movie “Made in Dagenham” about the car plant strike that brought about equal pay.
She is remembered fondly.

Good evening, Don! It’s only in the 50’s here as well, but beginning tomorrow, up into the 70’s. No rain today, sun with clouds. Very windy here last night with a torrential downpour. While I was out shooting flowers. LOL I was under an overhang but hubs got nervous about the lightening and yelled for me to come in. I did after I got my shots. LOL xx ….
