This is my educated guess….. snow is made of ice crystals. Light does not pass through ice crystals easily, so it is bounced off to and fro, and therefore , no color in the spectrum becomes dominant ( red, violet, etc ) What we then see is white color, the color thatt has not been separated. O_O I think.
Errrmmm, strictly snow isn’t white, it’s colourless. As it happens, polar bears aren’t white either, their fur is colourless. I know I’m being a smartarse here.

LOL, something else that’s interesting about water. When it freezes, it no longer flows.
