“Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.”
~ George Eliot

So true, Don. Yesterday I was with a fellow dancer I’ve known for well over a decade. The last couple of years, though, because of the epidemic, we hadn’t seen each other. What a joy it was to sit and chat with this wonderful woman. We even remarked that it was as though no time had passed since our last meeting.
Such is – true and loving friendship. We open ourselves in trust and caring. This is rare. To have a handful of such friends is truly inspiring.

Hi Carolyn, Sorry for the late reply. I have been busy doing other stuff, which is a good thing.
I do agree with you, to have a special friend you can confide in, and you be there for the same.
