“I don’t always, or even usually, read stories from beginning to end. I start anywhere and proceed in either direction. A story is not like a road to follow, it’s more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while.”

How odd. I’ve never heard of anyone reading a story in this way. It sounds more like writing a story than reading one.

I found it odd that she reads like the way she does.
Have you read any of her books?

Yes, I have. I’ve read The Color Purple and a collection of her short stories. (I don’t remember which one.)

The Color Purple was written by Alice Walker.
I’ve read two of Alice Munro’s books: Too Much Happiness and Vintage Munro. Both are short stories books.

Oops, sorry about that! Yes, I have read some of Alice Munroe’s short stories, just not a full book. I have one of her books in my TBR pile, in fact.

No problem, Liz. Happy reading when you get to reading her book.
