Poem: Walt Whitman, Miracles

“As for me, I know nothing else but miracles,
Whether I walk the streets of Manhattan,
Or dart my sight over the roofs of houses toward the sky,
Or wade with naked feet along the beach just in the edge of the water,
Or stand under the trees in the woods,
Or talk by day with any one I love,
Or sleep in bed at night with any one I love,
Or watch honey bees busy around the hive of a summer forenoon…
Or the wonderfulness of the sundown,
Or of stars shining so quiet and bright,
Or the exquisite delicate thin curve of the new moon in spring…
What stranger miracles are there?”
– Walt Whitman

Walking

I was walking through the leaves. Falling from the trees. Feelin’ like a stranger nobody sees. ~Bob Dylan

Love and Theft (2001)

If A Man Walks In The Woods…..

If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen. ~Henry David Thoreau

The Way It Is

October 6 2014

When I see blue sky with a smattering of clouds, it makes me happy. This my fellow readers, is all I need. Don’t need religion, nor read the bible. Don’t need to be told how to enjoy life. I am just basically one happy man, that likes solitude, peace of mind, and quietness.

The coffee tastes so much better, when I’m in a Zen moment. It makes the day much easier to enjoy, and live life to the fullest.

No Name Park

I’ve been living in this part of the city for five years, and have no idea what the name of the park is. I have asked people who have lived here a lot longer than me, and they don’t know what the name is, or if it ever had a name. The park is so small, that a person can do a complete walk around it in a minute, two at the most. September 3 2014

City Photo

The photo below is a bit on a slant, and the reason for that is, I was holding the phone above the top of the fence. June 10 2014

Moon – Waxing Gibbous

I thought I’d give it a try, taking this photo of the Moon, during its Waxing Gibbous phase, which is 90% illuminated. It was taken on Nov. 13, and it was 29F.

Dead Leaves

Cool sunny day here in Mass. Leaves that were at one time on the trees, are now laying morbid on the ground.

Leaves laying on the grass.
Leaves laying on the grass.

A sign of things to come …

A sign of things to come.
After a morning rain, now it is overcast.
Looking out the window, A pondering Mind sees the various trees, slowly changing color.
I guess it’s goodby to Summer and hello to Autumn, which arrives in the Eastern Time Zone at 4:44 pm.
Where does the time go?

Partly Cloudy Sky

Took these two photos earlier this afternoon. Lots of clouds, and no haze at all.
