Sitting in the rocking chair
Biding time
As I am getting older
With every passing tick of the clock
A little of this. A little of that.
Sitting in the rocking chair
Biding time
As I am getting older
With every passing tick of the clock
kick back
and relax
grab a book
any book
whatever tickles
your fancy
a good way
to pass the
time away
oh, the joy
of reading

With daylight savings time
done for the next four months…
it won’t stop me from taking
my early evening walks…I’ll
admit that I enjoy it….even
when there is snow and whatnot
on the ground…plod on…plod on….

so long since
i used an
alarm clock
… probably
wouldn’t know
how to set one
and even if i
did … well
the television show Route 66
starring Martin Milner…
George Maharis…Glenn Corbett
when hamburgers cost 15 cents
the air stinks
from the wildfires
out west…cut my
walk short…can
see the smoke on
the horizon
approaching noontime
on the east coast
the day is about
to begin the
second half
approaching the hour of 8:00 p.m.
soon it will be getting
a public service announcement
from your friendly blogger
so I managed to take a walk, and I didn’t let the sun or the heat get to me. I managed to block it out, and it does help.
now come Friday & Saturday, both days will only be in the 60s, with on and off rain. I can deal with that.
its been a long day
especially since
i’ve been
awake shortly
after 5:00 a.m.
not complaining
just saying
busy as a bee
no rest for the weary
the end will be
at no appointed hour
its the time of year that the longest day of year is upon us. the reverse will happen as the days will be on the road to getting shorter… and nothing can be done about it … so we just grin and bear it….
time is right
for the aroma
of fresh brewed
coffee is calling
for me
the day is still
and
in no rush to do
anything
sit down…take a load off your feet, and have a cup of coffee…we can spend some quality time having a gab fest…most any subject works for me…we can keep it light, or on the heavy side…in between is okay too…so…what ever floats your boat…
the older one gets, the faster the time goes by.
“Time and space – time to be alone, space to move about – these may well become the great scarcities of tomorrow.”
~ Edwin Way Teale, Naturalist ~ 1899 – 1980
A brand new month is upon us. March, which has 31 days, means there are 31 3:00 a.m.s. Anything may or will happen at that early hour of the morning. Its a wait and see, or beware of the unknown.
“Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.”
~ Harvey Mackay
February, the shortest month of the year, is already at the mid way point. Before you know it, the month of March will be here, and February will just be a memory.
“It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.”
~ Rose Kennedy
For the first time in history we can track the evolution of a pandemic in real time. Influenza viruses are notorious for their rapid mutation and unpredictable behavior.
Margaret Chan
With the current situation going on, all we can do is it live it one day at a time.
“No such thing as spare time, no such thing as free time, no such thing as down time. All you got is life time. Go.”
~ Henry Rollins
We seem to have a compulsion these days to bury time capsules in order to give those people living in the next century or so some idea of what we are like.
Alfred Hitchcock
I spent a lot of time at the New York Public Library, the main branch. I was one of those people. If you ever spend a good amount of time there, you realize there are people who spend the entire day there. They’re bookish homeless people.
-Lisa Yuskavage
People spend too much time finding other people to blame, too much energy finding excuses for not being what they are capable of being, and not enough energy putting themselves on the line, growing out of the past, and getting on with their lives.
-J. Michael Straczynski, American Producer – 1954 –
“It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.”

Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, but today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present.
~ Bill Keane
The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin’
And the first one now will later be last
For the times they are a-changin’
~Bob Dylan, The Times They Are A-Changin

Time sure flies

We
all
live
one
tick
of
the
clock
at
a
time.
Numerous
ticks
too
many
to
count.
Yup!

Lunchtime doubly so.”

There’s the saying(s) “time goes by to fast,’ “where did the time go?’ “time sure flies when you are having fun,” etc, etc.
If you ever want time to go by slow, pull up a chair, sit, relax and give the clock your undivided attention, and witness time passing by.
Call it meditation by clock.
Do not confine your children
to your own learning, for
they were born in another time.
-Chinese Proverb
Time
it
goes
on
and
on
and
…
it
never
ends
never
ends.

Talk about ‘how time flies.’
Just heard a song
on the radio.
“Can I Get a Witness”
by Marvin Gaye.
The song goes
back to the ’60s.
It brought back memories,
some good, so bad, and so-so.
Yes, ‘how time flies.’

What is irking me: nothing really comes to mind, as to what to post, write, type, copy, paste etc., etc. For now, I have other things to pass the time away.
So many books, so little time.
Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.
John Lennon

A sign of things to come.
After a morning rain, now it is overcast.

I was in enough to get along with people. I was never socially inarticulate. And that saved my life, saved my sanity. That and the writing. But to this day I distrust anybody who thought school was a good time. Anybody.
– Stephen King
Coffee leads men to trifle away their time, scald their chops, and spend their money, all for a little base, black, thick, nasty, bitter, stinking nauseous puddle of water.
– The Women’s Petition Against Coffee, 1674
